1. Set up a source

📘

A source is wherever you want to ingest data from, whether that's an API, data warehouse, or an SNS queue.

View the list of Sources Tarsal natively supports.

To set up a source:

  1. Login to https://app.tarsal.cloud
  2. Click Sources and then click Add Source.
  3. Select the Source Connector you want to set up.
  4. Fill out the displayed form to connect your source.
  5. Click Save.
    1. Prior to saving the configuration, the connector will run a health check to see if it can successfully authenticate against the source. If this fails, you can still save the connector, however it is recommended that you correct the authentication errors first.

2. Set up a destination

📘

A destination is a data warehouse, data lake, SIEM, or wherever you want to load your extracted data.

View the list of Destinations Tarsal natively supports.

To set up a destination:

  1. Login to https://app.tarsal.cloud
  2. Click Destinations and then click Add Destination.
  3. Select the Destination Connector you want to set up.
  4. Fill out the displayed form to connect your destination.
  5. Click Set up destination.
    1. Prior to saving the configuration, the connector will run a health check to see if it can successfully authenticate against the source. If this fails, you can still save the connector, however it is recommended that you correct the authentication errors first.

3. Set up a flow

📘

A flow is an automated data pipeline that normalizes data from a source to a destination.

To set up a flow:

  1. Login to https://app.tarsal.cloud
  2. Click Flows and then click Add flow.
  3. On the New flow page, select the source from the list of pre-configured sources
  4. Next select the destination from the list of pre-configured destinations.
  5. Click Save.
  6. That's It!

Next Steps

  1. Setup notifications to receive alerts when a source or destination connector fails, such as due to a network timeout or an authentication error.
  2. Add Users. Tarsal offers a basic RBAC which can allow a user access to your logs and stats, without being able to change configuration.
  3. Refine authentication settings, such as configuring Single Sign On
